Kashaya (Kashayam) Powder

Kashaya, a medicinal drink made of spices and herbs has been passed down from generations. It is known to boost immunity and prevent recurrence of the common cold and flu.

At Mangal Farms, we make our kashaya powder from organic herbs and spices that we grow and nurture in our gardens.

How to brew Kashaya powder.

• 1 level teaspoon kashaya powder
• 1 cup of water
• Reduce the water or Milk to half quantity.
• Sip away for good health.

Kashaya Powder Herbal Drink Recipe:

Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup Coriander seeds
• 1/4 cup Cumin seeds
• 7 Cloves
• 4 Green Cardamoms
• 3 Bay Leaves
• 1 tsp Black peppercorn
• 2 tsp Fennel seeds
• 4 Nutmeg
• 2 Dry Ginger
• 6 Ashwagandha
• 6 Jeshtamandhu

Steps:

• Assemble all the spices in specified quantity in one place
• Dry roast coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fennel seeds and black peppercorns one after the other on a low flame
• Once they change colour and give out a nice aroma when roasted, switch off the flame then.
• Roast the black peppercorns till they're warm. Ensure none of the spices are burnt.
• Use mortar and pestle to crush nutmeg, ashwagandha, jeshtamadhu and dry ginger so that the mixer can easily powder them.
  
• Include the roasted ingredients, crushed ones and rest of the ingredients in a blender or mixer and powder them together and transfer the powder to a plate and let it cool.
• Aromatic kashaya (herbal drink) powder is ready.
