The plant’s stalks are a common ingredient in Asian cooking, but it is also possible to brew lemongrass to make tea. You can find lemongrass in fresh, dried, or powdered forms.

- The essential oil of lemongrass is used as a fragrance for products including cosmetics, soap, and deodorant.

- The citral compound found in lemongrass can act as a natural insect repellant.
- Lemongrass is also used to kill germs and as a mild astringent.
